Summary
This study aimed to investigate amantadine's safety and its effect on reducing post-COVID-19 fatigue.
Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria:clinical diagnosis of COVID-19clinical evidence of fatigue despite the passage of 30 to 60 days from the onset --of the symptoms of COVID-19willingness and informed consent to participate in the studyExclusion Criteria:the recurrence of COVID-19 in the form of re-infectionhistory of psychiatric diseasespsychotic disorders (in the form of hallucinations and delusions)anxiety disorders and major depressionsubstance abuse in the last four monthstaking antidepressants during the last six weekscorticosteroids consumption during the last six weekstaking psychostimulant drugsan unstable medical conditioncognitive disorders and confusionwithdrawal from participating in the studyhistory of rheumatological diseasegetting cancer and malignancyadvanced chronic diseases (heart, liver, kidney, etc.)edema of organshypertension (untreated)hypogonadism (untreated)hypothyroidism (untreated)anemia (untreated)pregnancy and breastfeedingnausea and vomiting when starting to take Amantadineconvulsionsdyspneapost-COVID-19 encephalopathy
