Effects of Modified Otago Exercises in Individuals With Diabetic Neuropathy

Summary

The aim of the study is to investigate the effects of modified otago exercises on joint position sense, balance and physical fitness parameters in individuals with diabetic neuropathy. In addition aim of to examine the effects of exercise on metabolic variables and to gain exercise awareness in diabetic individuals.

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria:Individuals with Neuropathy Diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes between the Ages of 40-65 YearsCooperative, able to take instructions (Mini Mental Test score of 24 and above)Able to walk independentlyWith a Body Mass Index Below 40 Kg/M2Not Doing Regular Physical Activity for the Last 6 MonthsVoluntarily participated in the researchExclusion Criteria:Additional neurological problem other than neuropathyAny orthopedic or systemic problems that will prevent him from performing the exercisesThe presence of pathology related to the lower limb that occurred within the last 6 months (surgery, fracture, soft tissue injuries, etc.)PregnantVision problem that cannot be corrected with glasses or lensesHearing loss that cannot be corrected with hearing aidsFoot ulcerPatients who have been diagnosed with cancer and are receiving chemotherapy in this contextWith limitation of the range of motion of the joints of the lower extremities
