Evaluation of MTHFR Gene Polymorphism and Periodontal Clinical Parameters in Healthy, Hypertensive, and Periodontitis Individuals

Conditions: Hypertension, Periodontitis

Sex: All
Ages: 18 Years – N/A
Healthy volunteers: Yes
Enrollment: 200
Sponsor: Akdeniz University

Location: Akdeniz University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Periodontology Antalya Antalya

Summary

This observational study aims to evaluate the relationship between MTHFR gene polymorphisms and periodontal clinical findings in healthy individuals, individuals with hypertension, individuals with periodontitis, and individuals with both hypertension and periodontitis. A total of 200 participants will be included in four groups of 50 participants each. Periodontal clinical measurements, including plaque index, gingival index, bleeding on probing, probing depth, and clinical attachment level, will be recorded. Venous blood samples will be collected for DNA isolation and analysis of MTHFR gene polymorphisms. The study will investigate whether MTHFR gene polymorphisms are associated with periodontal clinical parameters and hypertension.
